Oireachtas banking inquiry committee holds first meeting

The Joint Oireachtas Committee formed to look into the banking crisis held its first meeting this afternoon.

The Joint Oireachtas Committee formed to look into the banking crisis held its first meeting this afternoon.

Chairman Ciaran Lynch TD said the committee “took stock of the legal and procedural framework” within which it must operate.

Lynch said the committee also considered the administrative and logistical supports which are available to them and discussed how to deal with the public and media interest.
