Official records to be kept of all planning meetings

The Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O'Sullivan, is to compel councillors and local authority officials to officially record all contacts or meetings on planning matters.

The Minister for Housing and Planning, Jan O'Sullivan, is to compel councillors and local authority officials to officially record all contacts or meetings on planning matters, in response to the Mahon Tribunal's recommendations.

A range of measures will be announced shortly as part of the government's formal response to the tribunal's report, which recommended ten specific reforms that apply specifically to housing and planning.
