Debt-to-GDP ratios are yesterday's news. Now, all we want to talk about is the medals-to-population ratio.

There are plenty of reasons for which to be grateful for the Olympics. The men's synchronised diving event, for one. Recognising women's boxing for another, and allowing Katie Taylor to compete - even if they did almost make her do it in a skirt. Proving that sometimes it only takes 9.63 seconds to make history - thank you, Usain Bolt.
