The Catholic Church says it would welcome a referendum on the issue of abortion, and I for one can't wait to hear it explain the positions it has adopted over the years.

As far as Cardinal Sean Brady is concerned, the state doesn't have to bother itself with the findings of the European Court of Human Rights.

There are only two possible explanations for one of the remarks made by the Catholic Primate of All Ireland, Cardinal Sean Brady, at the recent Edmund Rice Summer School in Waterford, when he said that Ireland "is one of the safest places in the world for mothers who are expecting a child".
