Britain’s communications regulator Ofcom has escalated its probe into whether British Sky Broadcasting is a “fit and proper” owner of a broadcasting licence, the Financial Times newspaper reported today.

Britain’s communications regulator Ofcom has escalated its probe into whether British Sky Broadcasting is a “fit and proper” owner of a broadcasting licence, the Financial Times newspaper reported today.

This follows the phone-hacking scandal that hit owner Rupert Murdoch’s News of the World newspaper last year.

His son James Murdoch is still the chairman of BSkyB even after stepping down as executive chairman of News International, which runs News...
