O’Brien’s sandwich bars recorded €900k profit

The main holding company behind O’Brien’s Irish Sandwich Bars recorded a profit of more than €900,000 in 2007. This was slightly down on its performance for the previous year, according to new company filings.

The snack franchise, headed by entrepreneur and Fine Gael general election candidate Brody Sweeney, had retained profits of €2.3million at the end of the year, up from €1.4 million the year before.

The company only files abridged accounts, and is not obliged to reveal its turnover or pre-tax profit figures. However, the franchise is understood to have annual revenues of more than €100 million.
