The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has confirmed that Giovanni Trappatoni has extended his contract as Ireland's soccer manager, with "generous support" from businessman Denis O'Brien.
Speaking on Morning Ireland on RTE, FAI chief executive John Delaney said the terms of the deal were confidential but said the soccer manager had accepted a cut in pay.
Trappatoni's contract is being extended until 2014 alongside that of his deputy Marco Tardelli.
