Senior executives from 12 of the United States’ largest banks have been summoned to the White House for a meeting with President Barack Obama tomorrow.
Among the items on the agenda will be how to increase lending, particularly to small businesses.
Obama has been expressing irritation that the banks, having received billions of dollars in taxpayer-funded assistance, have been slow to provide credit.
