One way, said O2’s new Irish boss, Stephen Shurrock, is to look at revenue streams outside of its voice, text and browsing businesses.

‘‘I see the phone, increasingly, as being a replacement for the wallet,” said Shurrock, who has spent the last decade managing sales divisions in O2’s British network....
