Major difficulties with the collection of prescription charges from nursing home patients will emerge in the coming weeks, the head of Unicare pharmacy chain has warned.

Cormac Tobin, who runs 72 Unicare outlets and two Doc Morris pharmacies, said pharmacists often delivered medication to nursing home management.

He said it would be very difficult for pharmacists to collect the money, when they were not always dealing directly with the patient. Nursing home management have been advised...
