Nurses reject 20% cut in starting salary

The "vast majority" of new nursing graduates will not work for a reduced starting salary of €22,000, the general secretary of the INMO has said.

The "vast majority" of new nursing graduates will not work for a reduced starting salary of €22,000, the general secretary of the INMO has said.

Liam Doran was speaking after a rally at Croke Park yesterday in protest against a new graduate nursing programme devised by the Health Service Executive (HSE), which would recruit 1,000 graduates on salaries 20 per cent lower than existing salaries.
