The number of people on the Live Register fell by 2,200 in March, bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 426,100.

The number of people on the Live Register fell by 2,200 in March, bringing the seasonally adjusted total to 426,100.

In unadjusted terms there were 425,088 people signing on the Live Register in March 2013, representing an annual decrease of 8,966, or 2.1 per cent. The Live Register is not a true measure of unemployment and includes part-time workers, seasonal and casual workers entitled to Jobseeker’s Benefit or Allowance.
