The number of job openings in the United States experienced its biggest decline in almost four years in April, according to figures released today.

The number of job openings in the United States experienced its biggest decline in almost four years in April, according to figures released today.

According to a report by Bloomberg News, the figures from the US Labour Department are the latest sign of a cooling in the US labour market.

The number of open positions dropped by 325,000, the biggest drop since September 2008, to 3.42 million from 3.74 million the prior month.
