Number of Irish children drinking alcohol falls

A new survey shows that 54 per cent of Irish 9 to 18 year olds reported that they have never had an alcoholic drink.

A new survey shows that 54 per cent of Irish 9 to 18 year olds reported that they have never had an alcoholic drink.

That is an increase of 23 per cent since 1998 and 14 per cent since 2002, according to drinkaware.ie, who welcomed the results. The Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Survey (HBSC) 2010 is undertaken every four years.
