Number of credit unions signing up to debt pilot programme

Some of the larger Irish League of Credit Union (ILCU) members have signed up to the Central Bank's debt resolution pilot despite the league's opposition to the project, *The Sunday Business Post has learned*.

Several of ILCU's larger credit unions have made commitments to cooperate with the new scheme, which will test 'burden sharing' between mortgage lenders and unsecured creditors, after meeting Central Bank officials last week.
