Where Have You Been? by Joseph O'Connor


Where have you been? We might well ask the same question of Joseph O'Connor and his fiction-writing contemporaries. The dearth of Irish writers focusing on Ireland's boom-to-bust story has been noted by many literary commentators in recent years and, even if their absence isn't intended to be the lingering point behind the questioning title of O'Connor's latest short story collection, it continues to be a pertinent question.
