Norway takes 3% CRH stake

Norway’s sovereign fund has taken a 3 per cent stake in Irish building materials giant CRH, making it one of the biggest backers of the company.

Norway’s sovereign fund has taken a 3 per cent stake in Irish building materials giant CRH, making it one of the biggest backers of the company.

This is the latest stake in an Irish company to be taken by the $340 billion fund, which has also built up positions in Greencore and Smurfit.

Created in 1990, Norway’s Government Pension Fund is the biggest in the world outside the Middle East.
