Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has announced his intention to bring forward changes to the tax relief that is available for donations to approved charities.

The changes will take effect from 1st January 2013 and will aim to simplify the relief scheme and reduce the administrative burden on charities and the Revenue Commissioners of operating the scheme.
