Minister for Finance Michael Noonan has described Budget 2016 as “mildly expansionary” but said he does not believe the economy is in danger of overheating.

Commenting on the view of Fiscal Advisory Council chairman John McHale that the budget looked too expansionary, Noonan said the government was actually taking more money out of the economy than it was putting in.
