The failure of former Irish Nationwide chief executive Michael Fingleton and businessman Louis Maguire to develop the old Hotel Fjord in Montenegro’s scenic coastal town of Kotor has caused anger among the locals, who saw it as essential to attracting tourists to the town.
Fingleton and Maguire are believed to have invested between €5 million and €10 million buying the landmark building right on the waterfront in 2006.
