No surprises for education sector in Budget 2015

No surprises in the education sector with no new increases or reductions announced by Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan today.

No surprises in the education sector with no new increases or reductions announced by Education Minister Jan O’Sullivan today.

Expected measures were the €250 increase in the third-level student contribution charge, the 1 per cent reduction to school capitation and 1 per cent reduction to pay and non-pay third-level budgets.

Primary and secondary schools benefited from 1,700 additional teaching staff, which includes 900 new classroom teachers in primary and secondary schools, 480 extra resource teachers...
