Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said there was "no great difficulty" in agreeing the terms of the 2011 budget with Fine Gael's coalition partners in the Labour Party.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan has said there was "no great difficulty" in agreeing the terms of the 2011 budget with Fine Gael's coalition partners in the Labour Party.

Noonan is set to announce tax measures to be taken in the budget this afternoon, having already confirmed plans for an increase in the rate of VAT and having said income tax won't change.

Minister for Public Expenditure and Reform Brendan Howlin has already outlined spending plans for 2012.
