Carlow's first four-star hotel is due to open on December 1. The Talbot Carlow will include 84 bedrooms, conference and banqueting facilities for 300 guests, a restaurant, leisure suite and beauty treatment rooms.

It is owned by Wexford businessman Des Pettitt, represents an investment of €20 million and will employ over 120 full and part-time staff.
