A division of the Siac construction firm is facing a wind-up petition. Universal Facades, based in Lisburn, Co Antrim, is petitioning to wind up Siac Glazing in a case to be heard on December 12.

Siac is one of the country's biggest construction firms, with turnover of €200 million last year and about 1,000 staff. The company has operations in Ireland, Britain, Belgium, Poland and Canada.
