New Yeti a formidable mountain for rivals to climb

Skoda's mid-life update for its mid-size crossover makes it a little less less adorable, but certainly not abominable, writes Nik Maher.

Ever since it was launched in 2009, the Skoda Yeti has arguably been the pinnacle of the hugely competitive compact SUV brigade. True, the Nissan Qashqai has out-sold it by a huge margin (more than two million sales worldwide versus around 280,000), but the Czech crossover has always been more interesting - more of a family friendly 4x4 than a hatchback with notions.
