New threat of airport chaos

Rolling union actions are planned for September 20, and passengers at all three airports are set to face disruption.

Ireland's airports are set to grind to a halt on September 20 due to a series of 'rolling strikes' that could ground Aer Lingus and cause travel chaos at all three state airports.

Siptu has given the go-ahead for the industrial action by Dublin Airport Authority (DAA) and Aer Lingus employees unless significant progress is made before then in dealing with the ongoing crisis in the pension scheme the two companies share.
