New rules will simplify European small claims court procedures

The European Parliament has passed new rules which will make it easier for consumers to take cross-border small claims cases as well as raising the claims threshold to €5,000

The European Parliament has passed new rules which will make it easier for consumers to take cross-border cases using the European small claims procedure as well as raising the claims threshold to €5,000 from €2,000.

According to MEP Brian Hayes the changes will benefit EU citizens by providing simplified procedures for cross-border dispute resolution without incurring expensive court fees.
