New-look F1 gets back on track

Changes to the design of Formula One cars are set to make motorsport more thrilling than before.

I get quite excited at this time of year, as international motorsport begins to wake from its hibernation and fans like me get to witness octane-fuelled competition again.

The curtain raiser for 2009 was the infamous Dakar Rally, which has moved to South America as a result of the cancellation of the 2008 event. Volkswagen finally broke the stranglehold of Mitsubishi and won this extraordinary event which only the tough and brave survive.
