The government plans to introduce legislation to govern the greyhound industry.

The moves follows the publication of two reports that identified corporate governance issues and a series of cost overruns and litigation at Bord na gCon, the semi-state body responsible for greyhound racing.

The Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism is preparing a Bord na gCon Amendment Bill to address the issues raised by the reports. The legislation is expected to come before the Oireachtas...
