New homes bubble up to the surface

Schemes of new homes are slowly drip-feeding into the Dublin market, and more are set to launch in the coming weeks as the selling season returns with a bang.

Until quite recently shunned and vilified as the co-architects of the housing market crash, developers are returning, albeit with limited schemes on smaller sites. This small scheme approach, likely a result of constrained circumstances, budgets and available land, should be welcomed as a change from large-scale schemes of hundreds of similar, identikit houses built in 'nappy valley' style estates of old.
