Cork company Cygnum has announced plans to invest €5 million in a new purpose-built facility in Macroom.

Cork company Cygnum has announced plans to invest €5 million in a new purpose-built facility in Macroom. The 40,000 square foot facility will enable the company, which sells timber-frame houses, to treble its capacity, creating 35 new jobs.

The facility is located on the site of the former General Semiconductor facility, which closed in Macroom in 2001 with the loss of 670 jobs. It is expected to open its doors in November.
