The new Mayor of Dublin is to supplant the Lord Mayor position and will take on the official title and live in the Mansion House, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

The new Mayor of Dublin is to supplant the Lord Mayor position and will take on the official title and live in the Mansion House, The Sunday Business Post has learned.

Under legislation to be published in the coming days, the new mayor, due to be elected next year, will from 2014 replace the current Lord Mayor, who is elected by Dublin City Council.
