New diesel Cooper is a real Mini

When the second generation of the modern Mini was introduced last year, only the more powerful petrol versions - Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S - were in production.

When the second generation of the modern Mini was introduced last year, only the more powerful petrol versions - Mini Cooper and Mini Cooper S - were in production.

Recently, the remaining two power versions, the Mini One and the Mini Cooper D arrived here. In the last generation, BMW bought in the 1.4litre diesel engine from Toyota.

Its output of 88bhp and 180Nm torque was insufficient to give the sparkle that Mini buyers expect.
