The new state grants authority is being inundated with around 1,100 college grant applications a day.

The new state grants authority is being inundated with around 1,100 college grant applications a day, with numbers expected to continue at a similar pace when the second round of CAO offers are issued this week.

More than 60,000 students have either submitted or started their applications online, according to Student Universal Support Ireland (SUSI), which was established for all new grant applicants.
