New children's hospital set for Blanchardstown

The Minister for Health, James Reilly, is set to recommend Connolly Hospital to become the site of the proposed national children's hospital.

The minister is expected to recommend the site in Blanchardstown to cabinet on the basis that there are no planning restrictions on the site, which is also more accessible than two of the leading contenders in Dublin city centre, the Mater Hospital and St James's.
