Magnus Ternsjö has been appointed chief executive of UPC Ireland as Dana Strong moves to a role as chief operating officer of Virgin Media and chairman of UPC Ireland

UPC's parent company Liberty Global said the change would take effect when it completes the acquisition of Virgin Media in the coming days.

Magnus Ternsjö has been managing director of Liberty Global’s Central European Direct to Home satellite television business since 2009.
