Nearly 500 Dublin houses sold for more than €1m last year

Almost 500 houses in Dublin sold for more than €1 million each last year, according to figures from estate agent Sherry FitzGerald.

Mark FitzGerald, the chief executive of Sherry FitzGerald, said 486 Dublin houses sold for more than €1 million in 2005, up from 320 in 2004 and 185 in 2003.

FitzGerald said property-price inflation was particularly strong at the top end of the market.
