The government has shelved plans to develop the €140 million National Sports Campus at Abbotstown in west Dublin.

The government has shelved plans to develop the €140 million National Sports Campus at Abbotstown in west Dublin.

The Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism has decided to suspend the project because of the deterioration in the public finances. The project has been in gestation for almost a decade and was to include an indoor training centre and facilities for the GAA, the IRFU, the FAI and about 30 other sports bodies.
