National census set to cost €50m

The national census of the population, which will take place on Sunday, April 23, will cost €50 million.

The national census of the population, which will take place on Sunday, April 23, will cost €50 million.

Government chief whip Tom Kitt has said that, in addition to the usual questions on demographic and social topics, new questions will be asked this time.

These include a more comprehensive approach to measuring family types and questions on female fertility, ethnicity or cultural background, and participation in voluntary activities.
