Nama scrutiny puts the Greens under pressure

Branches of the Green Party urgently want to discuss the merits and risks of the Nama legislation

Pressure is growing on Green Party leader John Gormley, as a small group of his party’s grassroots presses for a special conference on the National Asset Management Agency (Nama).

However, according to senior sources in the party, the issue is being pushed as a pretext to force the party out of government, rather than out of concern for the ‘bad bank’ proposal.
