Must you work until you die?

As the golden years recede even further for many people, one pension adviser believes many will have to work until they are 80 before they receive the full return on their savings.

Few people reflect at length on the age at which they will retire. They assume it will be when they reach 65 and are entitled to receive a state pension.

But what if they were forced to work until they were 70 or even 80? According to David Kingston, chairman of Acuvest Investment Advisers, this might be the case in the future.

“In 20 to 30 years' time, half of all Irish women will live to be 90,”...
