Musgrave is in talks with retailers to sell 75 supermarkets in Britain.

The €4.4 billion Cork retail giant - which operates the SuperValu and Centra franchises in Ireland - owns 80 supermarkets in Britain. The group has set a deadline of the start of next year to complete the transactions.

When the deals are completed, Musgrave will continue to supply the stores with goods, but they will be owned and operated by independent retailers.
