The case of Ms Y, who was acutely suicidal and was delivered of a live baby by C-Section in August, has received extensive media coverage.

Ms Y was pregnant as a result of rape, in a heightened state of vulnerability, and throughout her pregnancy had requested an abortion. She said she was suicidal, yet only received a specialist psychiatric assessment at an advanced stage of pregnancy.
