The head of Boots Ireland has called on pharmacists to move on from the dispute with the government over fees and focus on playing a bigger role in healthcare provision.

Rhys Iley, who is responsible for 48 pharmacies, also rejected suggestions that Boots had tried to use the row to boost its market share, by continuing to dispense medicines when other pharmacies closed.
