Mountjoy prison death probe delayed

An inquiry to probe the killing of a prisoner is expected to be delayed following the OPW's decision to relocate the inquiry's office due to Ireland's EU presidency.

A state inquiry set up to probe the killing of a Mountjoy Prison inmate in a crowded cell is expected to be delayed following the Office of Public Work's decision to relocate the inquiry's office due to Ireland's EU presidency.

The inquiry chairwoman, Grainne McMorrow SC, said the move would cause "significant disruption" to the work of the inquiry, which is nearing its end five years after it was established to look into the circumstances...
