Among the bigger numbers announced today by the Department of Finance in the Exchequer figures, a few particular items stand out.

Motoring fines are down from €3 million to €1.3 million

Here are some of the lesser-reported figures from the Department of Finance’s just-released exchequer retail figures.

The figures compare exchequer costs and receipts in February 2012 to those of February 2011.

**Capital gains tax:** up from €63 million to €149 million
