Motor industry calls for changes to reg plates
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry has launched its pre-budget submission, including a proposal to change registration plates.
The representative body for the Irish motor industry has called for changes to Ireland's system of car registration, in a bid to make car sales less seasonal.
The Society of the Irish Motor Industry (Simi) outlined the proposal at the launch of its 2012 budget submission in Dublin today.
According to a statement from Simi, nearly 50 per cent of new cars are sold in the first quarter of the year.
