A woman whose life was "transformed" by pain after having a baby has been awarded almost €600,000 damages against Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda.

Tracey Nelson said she suffered a symphysiotomy (splitting of the pelvic cartilage) while delivering her son because doctors failed to diagnose that she was suffering from a condition known as "symphysis-pubis dysfunction" (SPD).
