Mortgage borrowing cap would drive pressure on rental markets - REA

The Central Bank’s proposal to introduce a new mortgage borrowing cap of 80 per cent will lead to increased pressure in rental values in larger urban areas, property company Real Estate Alliance said today.

Philip Farrell, chief executive of REA said that measures should be introduced which “reflect the reality” of Ireland’s three-tier property market.
