In some ways 2014 saw a continuation of the housing market recovery. Transactions in the first nine months of the year were up 42 per cent on 2013 levels, with nearly 27,000 properties changing hands. Prices have also been rising, spectacularly so in Dublin, where values are up 24 per cent in the year.
